Consumers

Most people who need to access the aged care system will find it daunting but we have services at every level that will help – whether you are on older Australian, a family member, carer, guardian or financial manager.

Whether it is accessing My Aged Care on the phone or internet, talking with at-home or residential aged care providers or locating and arranging other services, All Things Aged Care can support you as you navigate these systems.

Common questions

Some of the common issues we can help with include:

  • Registering with My Aged Care
  • Deciding what kind of care is best for you – Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), Home Care Package (HCP) or Residential Aged Care (RAC)
  • Understanding the difference between private and government funded services and what’s right for you
  • Discovering other useful services in your area such as provided by local government or other organisations.

Here are some different levels of support All Things Aged Care can provide:

Free phone call

Our entry level support is a free 15 minute phone call to answer urgent questions and help you take the next step. We understand that you may have hit some walls already so this is our gift to you to make life a little easier.

Phone or email consultations

After our initial conversation, you might like to continue working through issues and questions on the phone (then or later) or through email. We can agree on a fee and keep on talking!

In-home consultation

As an experienced aged care assessor and care manager, we can come to your home and talk over all your aged care needs, explaining how things work and supporting your next steps. This visit will result in us either giving you the tools to keep navigating the system yourself, or agreeing on how we can take a more ‘hands-on’ role.

Site visits

If visiting a residential aged care home, respite facility or other service, we can accompany you to assist with questions, paperwork and reviewing the quality of the service, helping to make sure it is right for you or your loved one.

Support and advocacy

When applying for aged care, there are many forms to complete and phone calls to make and meetings to attend and this may seem overwhelming at times. We are able to come along side you as you do these tasks, supporting you each step of the way and advocating for you when needed.
